There are many sources of genealogy to help you build your family tree. To complement the official records, we have some interesting information in the Centre - perhaps you will find an old photo of an ancestor or find their house on one of our old maps. Come and have a browse or contact us for further information.

Genealogist Support
Our resident genealogist, Old Oak Genealogy, is now offering a new service of One-to-One Sessions, offered digitally or by phone. If you book after seeing this, using the code “Heritage”, then 10% of your payment to Old Oak will be donated to Pitlochry and Moulin Heritage Centre (run by Moulin Kirk Trust). See below for full information.
One-to-One Sessions: Old Oak Genealogy is now offering one-to-one sessions digitally (or by phone). These can be for anything you choose, from ways to begin your research to brick walls or more general discussions about your tree. You can chat with the genealogist and get tips, or they can do some research live while you watch! You should submit your aim and family information before your appointment (using the request form The genealogist will provide) and then you can carry out relevant research on your project whilst online together. Old Oak Genealogy can do 30 minutes (£15), 1 hour (£30) or 2 hour (£60) sessions (They will consider other durations for your session upon prior arrangement). Please message, email or call Old Oak Genealogy to find out more and to arrange your session!
A Family History Section for the Future
Finally, we are considering whether to build up a section with local family histories in the Centre. We have a few already, which have been donated over the year. If you have local connections and would be interested in lodging a copy of your tree in the Centre for others to peruse and help fine more connections, then please get in touch at This email address is being protected from spambots.
